Introduction to SHIELDGate

SHIELDGate is a user-friendly security portal that provides various features through the top menu bar (GNB) and the left menu bar (LNB) after logging in. This document explains the functions and usage of each component.


1. Top Menu Bar (GNB)

The top menu bar is fixed and provided throughout the SHIELDGate portal, including the toggle for the left menu and various function icons.

1.1 Hamburger Menu Icon

  • Toggle the display/hide of the left navigation bar (LNB).
  • Clicking will hide the left menu bar, and clicking again will show it again.

1.2 Search Icon

  • This is a feature that allows you to perform isolated access by directly entering the URL.
  • When you enter the URL you want to access, it will be opened in an isolated browser.
  • Access to the URL may be restricted or the icon itself may not be displayed according to the policies set by the administrator.

1.3 App Icon

  • Displays the list of tasks assigned by the administrator.
  • Clicking on each app (or site) will open it in an isolated browser.
  • Depending on the policy settings, permissions may be restricted, and the icon may not be displayed.

1.4 Desktop Icons

  • You can remotely access a registered desktop (PC).
  • If the desktop is not registered or if there are no permissions, the icon may not be displayed.
  • For the registration method, please refer to the separate 'Desktop Registration' guide.

1.5 File Icon

  • You can check the files/folders in my personal storage (drive) on SHIELDGate.
  • You can view or download the file, and this menu may not be displayed depending on the policy.

1.6 URL Navigation Icon

  • This is a feature that allows users to navigate to an external URL set in advance by the administrator.
  • The following user information is transmitted during the transfer:
    • url: Current page URL
    • companyName: Company Name
    • userEmail: User Email
    • time: Request time (in Unix timestamp format)
  • This feature may be disabled depending on the policy settings.

1.7 User Badge

  • You can check the information of the logged-in user, and clicking it also provides a logout option.
  • If you accessed from a public place, it is recommended to log out for security reasons.

2. Left Navigation Bar (LNB)

The left menu bar consists of a static menu that provides access to key business functions.

2.1 Business System

  • This is the core menu that allows isolated access to internal systems, SaaS, and internet sites.
  • You can access it through the assigned app or by entering the URL.
  • If the 'Business System' item is not displayed in the left menu, the 'Search' and 'App' icons at the top will also be hidden.

2.2 Desktop

  • This is a feature that allows remote access to company PCs from outside the office.
  • Only registered desktops can access, and the menu will not be displayed if not registered.

2.3 File

  • This is the menu for uploading or downloading files in your personal repository.
  • Used for document sharing and secure file management.

2.4 Management (Admin Only)

  • Includes administrator-only features such as system settings and user account management.
  • This menu is not displayed to regular users.

3. Problem Solving Guide

3.1 Menu is not visible or is disabled

  • In the following cases, some features may be hidden or unavailable:
    • If the usage conditions (time, location, device, etc.) are not met according to the administrator policy
    • When accessing from a mobile device
    • If it is a feature not included in the organization's license scope

If access to the menu is restricted, please request the administrator to check the policy or license conditions.
